Which representations for today’s woman?
In a world in perpetual evolution where morals, the notion of gender, roles and fantasies change, only certain classics seem to be frozen and among them the interest in women. Between object of desire, source of inspiration, pillar of the family or subject of controversy and debates as well political, societal, sociological, religious, the look on the woman has also adapted to his time. The creations of male and female artists offer us a glimpse of the plurality of responses and looks that each genre brings to it. From the perfectly sensual curve evoking a certain immutable purity and a carnal obsession of Florent Boisard, with naughty poses and joyful of a happy woman in a moment of letting go at Zalez, passing by the icon adulated almost forgotten at Joachim Romain, it is in the contrast of emotions that it appears in JM Robert. As for the female artist of the exhibition, the sculptor Soria Jordi, fits the woman, in a vision anchored in the history of our cultures, recalling the unifying role of the woman, always in search of a balance. Passionately sentimental Soria Jordi gives us the testimony of the universal and plural woman.
# 3 – SORIA JORDI “Passionately sentimental” June 20th to August 31st
Soria Jordi is an international artist, bronze sculptor at the crossroads of Cuban, Indian, Italian and Algerian cultures who lives in Perpignan and who has located her work of creation in the Intimate and his unconscious. Exhibited at the Grand Palais, at the Carrousel du Louvre, she works in Spain, Belgium, Liechtenstein, and China where she was able to make a monumental sculpture in 2014. Of uncontrolled thoughts in uncontrollable emotions, Soria Jordi lets us feel gracefully the weaknesses as the brave and universal expression of a feminine force. Animated by the desire to understand the world, Soria Jordi embodies an idealized vision of the Woman as well in her torments and her fears in the face of Love as in her trials of life. Feeding on plural truths, she witnesses a condition in search of evolution.
