Biography
Alexander Deanesi, international painter, graduated from the Beaux Arts in Florence, has lived in Paris since 1993. His classical training naturally led him to oil painting in the style of the great masters. To traditional painting techniques, he brings a touch of modernity inspired by Pop-Art and Urban Art. Ironic, sometimes cynical, he always draws his inspiration with passion and for the love of Beauty.
It was Paris that gave him the way and the means to accomplish his creative path. He then meets the universe of underground culture, a socio-cultural revolution on the imprint of the 67 ‘movement in San Francisco, “The summer of love”, which pushes him to invest in abandoned places in order to transform, overnight, into a global work. Thus, music, images and sculptures, find a pure art form, without contamination, free. This experience strongly influenced his painting which is both urban, magical and having a real look at current events.
He co-founded the association called ELT – Esprit Libre Technologique which brings together young researchers and creators for new events. The concept is to create a total and interactive show. Sensitive to the “free-party” movement, he helps and welcomes electronic music creators in his workshop in search of expression possibilities. This movement has aroused the interest of the Institutions. In 2002, the Palais de Tokyo invited him to carry out a “collective festival” in which he retraced this coherent historical and artistic journey from the Impressionists through bell art to contemporary squats.
At the same time, Alexander Deanesi is represented by various galleries in France or abroad and participates in numerous fairs, in particular Art Basel, as well as in various events in large institutions such as the Dokumenta de Kassel, the Pompidou center, Le Palais of Tokyo and the Grand Palais.
