Pierrick Allemand first studied in Montpellier, then Toulouse, and Barcelona. The artist is therefore very far from the pure expressionism of the North. Then, he specialized in the old-fashioned fresco, a complex technique generally practiced in large dimensions. At the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona he covered a wall of 6 m by 3.40 m. As for the Café Six in Saint-Germain-Des-Prés the fresco is smaller but the frequency of visitors is larger and above all, very international.
So he takes possession of the walls.
What counts in Pierrick Allemand’s eyes is the beating of life. The scene that unfolds before your eyes with the girl on a motorcycle, the actress in her scenery, all these scenes represent a certain vibration that we sometimes feel close to comics and animation drawing but it makes way here to a very personal approach to femininity.
He exhibits since 1998 and follows the general trend. Hence, his exhibition in New York ranges from Soho to Chelsea and yet, his painting is actually everywhere. Thus, one can detect a certain relationship between the streets of Pierrick Allemand (born in 1973) and the ancient Palermo market painted by Guttuso in 1974!
Art is full of these correspondences through time and space : Guttuso loved women a lot, speaks of a world that is feminizing.
You have to see this painter out of time and all together totally in his century. He can be violent with clear colors and tragic in a solar mood. He is a painter for the present time.
