Zalez is a French painter / stencil artist.
Lives and works in Toulouse.
Zalez, Street artist graffeur and stencil, is a hyperactive always in search of novelty. He studied Design, Architecture but also Fine Arts.
He tried graffiti in a group called “Zone Approved Libertarian Educated”. The latter investd, in the 2000’s, the streets of Toulouse in a wild way for exhibitions and happenings.
After working in the street, he devoted himself to working on canvas, accumulating exhibitions and was then represented in England, Spain, Hungary and Hong Kong among others. He eventually developed his technique in color drawing and focuses on studio work exclusively. Varied tools and supports, Zalez is experimented in a creative amalgam : drawing, stencil, ink, acrylic painting and sculpture, as many techniques assimilated to each other.
The work of Zalez focuses on the identity of the woman in which he transposes a deliberately provocative message. What seems at first sight shocking and controversial manifests the originality of the artist. The nudity of the subject in sometimes outrageous positions conveys a contemporary vision of the body of the woman. The public enters an intimacy that he does not expect, he finds himself in front of his personal and societal taboos.
Posing his work in a paradox between the classicism of the drawing and the approach of the Nu on the one hand, and on the other hand the contemporary urban art in which he draws the techniques and the modern denunciations, Zalez gives us pleasant provocations.
A subtle balance between a classical aesthetic and a reactive aim. Where women regain full possession of their bodies, the object in the object is a message carrier, vehicle choice, voluntary bias and not suffered by the public.
